Data Encryption Services
If you left your laptop on a train, could a stranger read your files? If the answer is yes, you need encryption. We secure your data with military-grade locks.
Make Your Data Useless to Thieves
Laptop theft is common in Leeds. A simple Windows password does NOT protect your data. A thief can simply remove your hard drive, plug it into another computer, and read everything: your tax returns, your client lists, your passwords.
Full Disk Encryption is the only defense. It scrambles every byte of data on your drive using complex mathematics. Without the decryption key (your password), the data is just random noise. It is mathematically impossible to hack.
BitLocker (Windows) & FileVault (Mac)
We configure the native encryption tools built into your OS. This ensures zero performance loss and maximum stability.
- TPM Integration: We link the encryption to your motherboard's TPM chip, protecting against "Cold Boot Attacks."
- Recovery Key Management: The danger of encryption is losing the key. If you forget your password, the data is gone forever. We help you securely back up your 48-digit Recovery Key to your Microsoft/Apple account and print a physical copy for your safe.
Encrypted USB Drives
Do you carry a USB stick on your keyring? That is a massive security risk. We can set up "BitLocker To Go" or supply hardware-encrypted USB drives (like iStorage) that require a PIN code to be typed onto the drive itself before it will mount.
GDPR Compliance for Business
Under GDPR, if an unencrypted laptop containing customer data is stolen, you must report it to the ICO and you may be fined. If the laptop is encrypted, the data is considered "unintelligible" and the breach is significantly less severe. We provide an encryption audit certificate for your business insurance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will encryption slow down my computer?
On modern computers (last 5-7 years), absolutely not. Modern processors have "AES-NI" instructions dedicated to handling encryption instantly. You won't notice a thing.
What if I forget my password?
This is the trade-off. If you lose the password AND the recovery key, the data is unrecoverable. Even the FBI cannot crack AES-256. This is why our setup process involves rigorous key backup strategies.
