Stop the Pop-Ups
You open Google Chrome, but it redirects you to "AskJeeves" or "Yahoo." You click a news article, and a new tab opens selling you gambling credits. This is Adware. It's not just annoying; it's tracking everything you do. We scrub it clean.
Who hijacked my Google?
Browser Hijackers usually sneak in when you install free software (like a PDF converter or video downloader). They bundle a "Search Manager" that changes your default search engine to something terrible.
Why? Money. Every time you search or accidentally click one of their fake ads, the hacker gets paid a few cents. It ruins your experience to make them a small profit.
We fully reset your browser environment. We remove the malicious extensions, clear the infected cache, and reset the Group Policy settings that "lock" your browser to their homepage.
Common Nuisances
1. The "Fake Update"
You visit a website and a huge arrow points to a button saying "Your Flash Player is Outdated! Update Now!" This is never real. It downloads a hijacker. We remove the downloaded file and the scheduled task that keeps reinstalling it.
2. Notification Spam
Do you see little boxes in the bottom right corner of your screen saying "3 Viruses Found!" or dating ads? This isn't a virus; it's a website notification you accidentally allowed. We revoke these permissions.
3. Ghost Extensions
Some hijackers install a browser extension that is "Invisible" in the Chrome menu, or says "Managed by your organisation" to stop you from deleting it. We use Registry edits to force-delete these.
Is it Dangerous?
Adware seems harmless, but it's a gateway.
- Tracking: They track every site you visit to serve you targeted (often scam) ads.
- Malware Drop: Adware often auto-downloads worse viruses (like Ransomware) in the background without you knowing.
Browsers We Fix
We clean them all.
- Google Chrome: Deep profile clean.
- Microsoft Edge: Policy reset.
- Firefox: Config reset.
- Safari (Mac): Extension purge.
Adware FAQs
Clean up your surfing.
Will I lose my bookmarks?
No. We are very careful to export your bookmarks (Favourites) before resetting the browser. You keep your saved sites, but lose the nasty toolbar.
Why does it keep coming back?
Hijackers often use "Sync" features. If you are signed into Chrome on another device (like an old laptop) that is infected, Google Sync might re-download the bad extension. We help you sanitize your Sync data.
Do I need an AdBlocker?
Absolutely. We install uBlock Origin or AdBlock Plus as part of the service. This prevents 99% of malicious ads from ever loading on your screen.
