Rice is a Myth
Putting a wet phone or laptop in rice is the biggest myth in tech. It blocks airflow and traps humidity inside, speeding up corrosion. The 'sugar' in drinks like tea or coke becomes conductive overlap on the logic board, causing short circuits.
Our Process: We strip the motherboard out of the chassis. We place it in an industrial Ultrasonic Cleaner with a special chemical solution that removes oxidation from underneath the microscopic chips.
We then examine the board under a microscope, replacing any burnt capacitors, resistors, or corroded power chips (like the CD3215 or ISL9240).

1. Ultrasonic Cleaning
Our first step. Often, this is enough to bring a dead Mac back to life if caught early (within 24-48 hours).
2. Keyboard Replacement
Liquids usually hit the keyboard first, making keys sticky or unresponsive. We replace the entire keyboard assembly (riveted in) for a factory-fresh feel.
3. Data Recovery
If the Mac is beyond economical repair, our priority shifts to your files. We can perform board-level work just to get the SSD power rails working stable enough to extract your photos and docs.
Why Apple Won't Fix It
If you take a water-damaged Mac to Apple, they have 'Liquid Contact Indicators' (LCIs) that turn red.
They will quote you for a 'Tier 4' repair, replacing almost every part inside (Board, Case, Screen), often costing £800+. We don't replace the board; we fix it. This typically costs £150 - £300.
