Sticky or Dead Keys?
The keyboard is the first casualty of a spill. Liquid gets trapped under the rubber domes, making keys crunchy or unresponsive. We replace the whole unit.
Why We Replace, Not Clean
Customers often ask if we can just "clean" the sticky keys. Unfortunately, modern laptop keyboards are multi-layered sheets riveted together. You cannot dismantle them to clean the sugar inside without destroying them.
The only reliable fix is a brand new keyboard. For many modern ultrabooks and MacBooks, this involves replacing the entire "Top Case" (the metal palm rest area) for a factory-perfect finish.
Spill Symptoms
Crunchy Keys
Keys feel stiff and make a crunching noise when pressed due to dried sugar.
Ghost Typing
The laptop types random letters on its own because the liquid is shorting the sensor grid.
Erratic Mouse
The liquid has leaked down to the trackpad, causing the cursor to jump around.
