PC Case Swaps & "Re-Shelling"
Is your Gaming PC a boring black box? Or is it a "hotbox" that suffocates your components? We give your PC a new lease on life. We carefully transplant your expensive motherboard, GPU, and storage into a brand new, high-airflow chassis with Tempered Glass and RGB Lighting.
Don't Replace It, Re-Shell It
Many gamers think they need to buy a whole new computer just because theirs looks "old." But often, the processor (i7/Ryzen) and Graphics Card are still powerful. The problem is the Case. Old cases from 2018 often have solid plastic fronts, tiny intake vents, and nowhere to hide cables.
The Transformation: A "Case Swap" is like moving house. We take everything you own and put it into a bigger, better, nicer home. Suddenly, you have USB-C ports on the front, dust filters that are easy to clean, and a view of your hardware that makes you proud to transform your desk setup.
At our Headingley workshop, we treat this like surgery. We use anti-static mats, we re-paste your CPU while we're at it, and we route every single cable so it's practically invisible.
The Benefits of Upgrading
1. Airflow & Temperatures
Old cases are often hotboxes. Modern "High Airflow" cases (like the Corsair 4000D or Lian Li Lancool) use mesh front panels to let your PC breathe. By moving your components into a better case, we often see GPU temperatures drop by 10-15°C. This stops your fans from spinning at 100% volume, making your PC quieter while gaming.
2. Aesthetic Overhaul
Want the "Fish Tank" look (Lian Li O11 Vision) where you can see everything? Want an all-white build? We can add ARGB Fans that sync with your motherboard software, LED strips, and even vertical GPU mounts to show off the fan side of your graphics card. It turns your PC into a centerpiece.
3. Hardware Compatibility
Bought a massive RTX 4080 or 4090 and realized it doesn't fit in your old case? This is common. New GPUs are 330mm+ long. We help you choose a chassis with the right clearance, PSU shroud space, and radiator support for 360mm AIOs that old cases just can't handle.
The "Invisible Cable" Standard
The main reason people hire us instead of doing it themselves is Cable Management.
It takes hours to do correctly. We don't shove cables into the back panel and hope it closes. We strap, tie, and channel every wire.
- Cable Extensions: We can install braided cable extensions (in white, black, red, etc.) to replace the ugly plastic generic cables that come with your power supply.
- Airflow Tuning: We arrange cables so they don't block the air path from your front intake fans to your graphics card.
- Final Inspection: Every port (USB, Audio, Ethernet) is tested to ensure the new case front I/O is wired correctly to the motherboard headers.
Bring Your Own?
Yes, we are happy to use parts you bought elsewhere.
- 1. Buy it: Order the case you love from Amazon, Scan, or Overclockers.
- 2. Bring it: Drop off your current PC and the new empty box at our shop.
- 3. Build it: We charge a fixed labor fee (usually £60-£80 depending on complexity) to do the swap.
- 4. Collect it: Pick up your "New" PC the next day.
Case Swap FAQs
Leeds Gamers ask us.
Will my motherboard fit?
Most likely. Standard ATX, Micro-ATX, and Mini-ITX boards fit in 99% of mid-tower cases. The only exception is if you have a proprietary pre-built (like a Dell Alienware or HP Omen) which often use non-standard motherboard shapes. We can check this for you simply by looking at a photo.
How long does it take?
A standard case swap takes about 2-3 hours of bench time. We usually ask for 24 hours so we have time to stress test the system afterwards and ensure all the fans are spinning correctly.
Can you add more fans?
Absolutely. If your new case has space for 6, 9, or even 12 fans, we can install and wire them all up to a controller hub so you can change the colors with a remote or software.
